The Mitchell Institute, which supports promising Maine students with scholarships and mentorship, has profiled Keep It Clean founder Cole Ellis — a 2023 Mitchell Scholar out of Searsport District High School.
The piece traces the company from a side project Cole started in his junior year to a working business with a team, two vehicles, and clients spread from Bar Harbor to Gorham. It also sets out why the need keeps growing: Maine installs heat pumps at roughly three times the national average, and around one in five new homes in the state now has one. Every one of them eventually needs cleaning.

Cole is studying finance and marketing at Thomas College while running the business, and told the Institute he plans to grow to three locations over the next few years.
